  • What are the Benefits of Crizal No-Glare lenses?

Crizal No-Glare lenses provide the clearest vision possible by protecting against glare, scratches, smudges, dust, water and UV light, so you can see, look and feel your best. Choose Crizal lenses, and join over 150 million people worldwide who wear and trust our No-Glare lenses.

How do I know I have Crizal No-Glare lenses?

Crizal No-Glare lenses are supplied from the manufacturing laboratory with a Crizal Certificate of Authenticity (COA) card. To ensure your receipt of genuine Crizal lenses, the COA card includes product registration information and a Crizal cleaning cloth. If you do not receive these items with your Crizal lenses, please consult your Eyecare Professional.

What are the different Crizal lens options?

The Crizal family of coatings includes: Crizal Easy UV™, Crizal Alizé UV™, Crizal Avancé UV™, Crizal Sapphire UV™, and Crizal Prevencia®. We even have two Crizal for Kids products. Crizal Kids UV™ and Crizal Prevencia® Kids. Your Eyecare Professional can explain the different benefits of each Crizal lens and provide a recommendation. Learn more.

Are Crizal No-Glare lenses heavier or thicker than regular lenses?

Crizal No-Glare lens treatment is very thin — thinner than a strand of hair! The actual thickness and weight of your glasses is a function of the lens material chosen, your frames and your prescription.

What is the warranty on Crizal lenses?

Warranties on Crizal lenses vary among Eyecare Professionals, so be sure to ask your Eyecare Professional about his/her specific coverage and policies.

  • Do Crizal lenses have UV protection?

Yes! All Crizal lenses offer the most comprehensive daily protection against the invisible and often irreversible dangers of UV reflection. Ask your Eyecare Professional to recommend one of many lens materials providing this maximum clear lens protection.

    What is UV light?

UV is a form of light/radiation which is not visible to the human eye. Sunlight is the primary source of ultraviolet radiation. UV light comes from all directions, reflecting off surrounding surfaces and creating dangerous exposure.

Why do I need UV protection?

UV damage is cumulative and often irreversible. Long-term exposure to UV radiation can increase the risk of certain eye conditions and diseases, such as UV-related cataracts, growths on the eye, and even certain skin cancers on the eyelids or around the eye area.

What are the side effects of UV?

Premature signs of aging, skin cancer, eye disease, wrinkles and dark circles.

Why would I wear eye protection when it’s cloudy outside?

Over 40% of annual UV exposure is received during conditions when people are not in full sunlight and are less likely to wear protection. Complete UV protection on your everyday clear lenses can help protect the long-term health of your eyes.

Why would I need UV on the back side of my lens if it’s already on the front side? Isn’t that enough protection?

UV light comes from all directions, reflecting off surrounding surfaces and creating dangerous exposure. The back surface of everyday clear glasses has been found to reflect light coming from the back and sides of the lens, increasing UV light exposure to the eyes. Most sunglasses and clear lenses with higher quality materials block UV light from transmitting through the front of the lens, but they do not address the UV light reflecting off the back side of the lens. Crizal No-Glare lenses provide protection against back side UV reflection. Ask your eyecare professional about the benefits of Crizal lenses.

Can I get Transitions® with Crizal No-Glare lenses?

Transitions lenses are available with Crizal No-Glare lens treatment. Please ask your Eyecare Professional if this is the best option for you.

Yes, Crizal No-Glare technology is compatible with most lenses and always compatible on Varilux lenses. To learn more about Varilux progressive lenses, visit

  • How do I clean my Crizal lenses?
    1. Rinse Crizal lenses under warm, running water to remove any sandy/gritty debris.
    2. Clean with a mild liquid dishwashing soap to remove facial oils.
    3. Rinse with water.
    4. Dry with a soft cotton cloth.
    5. Polish your lenses with the microfiber Crizal cleaning cloth provided to you.

You can also use the Crizal cloth for touch-up cleaning throughout the day when it is not convenient to wash your lenses.

While the hydrophobic properties of Crizal facilitate the removal of smudges, dust, dirt and fingerprints more easily, the smudges and fingerprints may appear more visible on Crizal lenses than on an uncoated lens. Watch a video on how to clean your Crizal lenses.

Where do I buy/find new cleaning cloths?

Additional Crizal cleaning cloths can be purchased here.

How do I clean my Crizal cleaning cloth?

Cleaning cloths can be washed on the gentle cycle in the washer or hand-washed. We recommend that you do not use any laundry additives (such as fabric softener) which could leave a residue on the cloth. Additional cleaning cloths can be purchased on this website or at any optical shop.

Can I use alcohol to clean my lenses?

Occasional use of alcohol on Crizal lenses will not be harmful. However, we do not recommend continuous, daily use.

What do I do if I have hair spray or paint on my lenses?

If you are not able to remove hair spray or paint using the cleaning recommendations found above, we suggest taking your lenses to your Eyecare Professional for assistance.

Can I use a lens cleaner?

Yes. Commercially prepared anti-reflective lens cleaners are safe to use with Crizal lenses.

  • How often should I have my eyes checked and when should I replace my lenses?

Your eyesight and vision are critical to your overall health and well-being. It is recommended that you have a comprehensive eye exam annually and consult your Eyecare Professional on the best lens option for you.
